What Is Included
A skin fade, also called a zero fade, is the shortest haircut on our menu. The sides and back are cut down to minimal length with a slight shadow, then blended up into the longer hair on top for a clean and modern style.
It works with almost any style on top, from crops to natural curls, which is why it is one of our most requested services.

What to Expect, Step by Step
Book or walk in
Book your shop, barber and time on Fresha, or walk in when a barber is free.
Talk it through
Tell your barber where the fade should start (low, mid or high) and how much contrast you want. A reference photo helps.
The fade
The sides are taken down to minimal length with a slight shadow and blended into the hair on top.
Beard and line up
With the combo, your barber also trims your beard and lines it up with a razor for a sharp finish.

How long does a skin fade take?

How often should I come back for a skin fade?
A skin fade grows out quickly because the sides start at the skin. We suggest a visit every two weeks to keep it crisp. If you like it extra sharp, book a little sooner; if you prefer a softer look, wait a little longer.
Can I walk in for a skin fade?
Walk ins are welcome at all three UPTOWN Barbers shops when a barber is free. We cannot promise an immediate seat, so booking on Fresha is the surest way to get the time you want.
